Poetry You Can Hear
So glad you
came by.
I built
this page so my faraway grandchildren could find
an interesting poem to hear when they visit. There is a list of
fun kid activities, too.
The poems
are recorded as MP3 files. To hear a poem, download
iTunes
(it's free), and click a poem link.
If you
are a child in mid-kidhood and older (or a child at heart), listen to poems about:
What trees might see when we ice skate
on a lake
What you might think of galoshes and boots
Building a snow zoo
The snow
day that
didn't happen
Memory of a daughter at 10
Taking a ferry to Martha's Vineyard island
What a little girl liked about a city park
What
a little girl didn't like about going to the doctor
How you feel on the first night in a summer cabin
Watching
toy planes at war
Tale
of two sisters going out in a rowboat
What a hawk thinks
What alligators in
an Everglades swamp think of a photographer

At a Renaissance Fair long ago with my fair ladies
Tester 1, 2, 3 ...
Let me know if the sound is okay.

After
you've heard poems, you could:
- Draw a
picture about a poem.
- Take a
look at my artwork.
- Write
your own poem.
- Find
another poem
to hear on the internet.
- See a
satellite view
of a place I mention in a poem.
- Write
an
email
to me and tell me what you like.

Thanks for visiting!
Dear parent or
grandparent,
I'm grateful to my family for teaching me empathy and compassion,
for making me see the world through the eyes of other people. It has
added to the fullness of my life.
It's obvious you care about raising your child to be a full human
being. If you ever wonder what you can do to foster your child's compassion,
considering visiting the sites listed below and others like it to see how you can help.
You are the best role model in their world:
Feed the
children
Bring Clean Water to
the World's Families
Heal the sick children
Fix children's
broken smiles
